Reject the dangerous tax reform plan
The tax plans the House and Senate passed would be a windfall for the wealthy and would punish working families -- adding more than $1 trillion to the federal deficit and starving the government of resources it needs to support vital safety net programs. Both these plans would undermine the economic security of middle- and low-income women and families. The House and Senate tax plans are deeply and fundamentally flawed and both also contain specific provisions that I strongly oppose: --The sham paid leave provision in the Senate tax plan. It's yet another corporate giveaway that has little chance of helping people who need paid leave. --The Senate tax plan's repeal of the requirement that we all purchase health insurance, which would result in 13 million people losing their health coverage, skyrocketing premiums and instability in the health insurance marketplace.--The anti-abortion "fetal personhood" language that is in the House bill, which could potentially have far-reaching consequences for women's health. These tax plans should be rejected, not reconciled! I urge you to stand up for women and families by voting "NO."
