Stop the delays and implement the UPLA today!

Dear Chairman Mendelson

This time last year, I was proud to be a D.C. resident when the Council made a promise to support families going through major health events and experiencing caregiving crises.

The Universal Paid Leave Act (UPLA) is a groundbreaking policy that supports workers and small and local businesses.

But now, a year after the UPLA's passage, we're fighting against efforts by powerful corporate interests to make paid leave inaccessible to thousands of working people -- efforts that have delayed implementation of the UPLA and vital protections for working families.

That's why, on the anniversary of the UPLA's passage, I'm calling on you and your colleagues to stop the attacks on D.C.'s paid leave law.

Do the right thing. Stand strong for workers. Defend and implement the Universal Paid Leave Act.

Sincerely,
