Honor World War I Memorials

Ahead of the centennial of World War I, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) introduced bipartisan legislation to save World War I memorials across the country. The Honoring World War I Memorials Act of 2017 would authorize the Department of Veterans Affairs to distribute grants to assist in the rehabilitation of World War I memorials owned or managed by nonprofit organizations and state and local governments.

The National Trust endorses this legislation to give World War I memorials the protection they deserve and raise awareness of their important role in ensuring that the sacrifices of those who served in the war are honored and not forgotten.

Join us in urging lawmakers to support the Honoring World War I Memorial Act of 2017 and protect our country’s World War I memorials. Please customize the message to your representative below. The more personal the better.
