If H.R. 7 were to become law, all women could lose insurance coverage that includes abortion. Already, policymakers deny abortion coverage from women who participate in federal insurance plans and health programs, like Medicaid or Peace Corps. H.R. 7 would make these restrictions permanent and would go after insurance coverage of abortion in the private market too.
Without abortion coverage, many people would not be able to afford abortion care when they need it. Bans on insurance coverage of abortion are especially harmful for those like low-income women, women of color, and immigrant women that already face significant barriers to care.
Many legislators require the 'title' field to be filled in but only accept a predetermined list of options. The National Women's Law Center understands that these options do not represent all gender identities.
Dear [Decision Maker],
I am writing to urge you to oppose H.R. 7, a harmful bill that could lead to women losing insurance coverage of abortion.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP]
