Tell Your Legislator: 40 Years Later, This Is Still My Decision

State Legislature 2013

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that put the decision whether to have an abortion right where it belongs – with women. But after two especially difficult years of unprecedented attacks against women's reproductive health, it's clear the rights granted by Roe are very much at stake.

State legislators are trying every trick in the book to limit abortion. Whether it's requiring those seeking an abortion to undergo a medically unnecessary and physically invasive ultrasound or defunding Planned Parenthood, women are being met at every turn with newrestrictions that make it harder to get the critical health services we need. In fact, in the last two years we've experienced the highest number of attacks on women's reproductive health ever.

Let's make sure reproductive health care is around for generations to come. Speak out and write to your state legislators today!

Dear [Decision Maker],

Forty years after the U.S. Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision a landmark ruling that changed reproductive health care in our country for generations of women my ability to make the personal decision to have an abortion is under attack like never before.

Everyone's life is different...especially when it comes to reproductive health. These decisions are personal and should remain in the hands of women. It's up to you to keep it that way.

Sincerely,
