Welcome to Thomas' #MyLungLife Weight Lifting Challenge page!
This AUGUST, in a nearby GoodLife, I’m supporting the Lung Health Foundation by participating in the #MyLungLife Challenge.
I will be lifting 22,000 lbs the rest of this month in honour of the 22,000 breaths we take each day.
BUT... I need your help!
For every $1 raised, I will add an additional 100 lbs to that total, as a way to raise funds for the programs and services that Canadians need most to protect their lungs!
So, if you donate $10, I will add 1,000 lbs to that 22,000 lbs goal, making it 23,000 lbs.
Look this might add up quickly, so I am a little nervous about it, but it's for a great cause!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What am I supporting?
You’re supporting Lung Health Foundation’s programs like Fitness for Breath, which keeps people living with serious respiratory conditions stay fit and active in their communities.
How are you calculating the weight toward your total?
For every pound lifted, I will add it to the total. So, lifting a 25 lbs dumbbell for 6 reps is 150 lbs towards that total. I will try to report my progress as I go, to keep everyone in the loop. To keep it challenging, I won't count any of the warm-up sets, but just the sets at the max weight for that day.
Do you even lift?
Honestly, due to COVID, my weightlifting has taken a back seat. So, I haven’t really touched weights in months, but hoping to kick start back into gear with this challenge.
What kind of lifts are you planning to do?
I am going to focus on the big five compound exercises: Squat, Bench Press, Barbell Row, Overhead Press, Deadlift.
What is your fundraising goal?
Looking to raise $150, every little bit counts. BUT, surpassing this goal would earn me some serious clout around the office, and obviously some big gains.
When does this challenge end for you?
End of the month of August, so soon. Probably should be lifting, instead of writing this FAQ.
Can I make a donation on the last day?
Nice try, but the donation window ends August 22nd, so what are you waiting for? Donate now!
