Critical Support Needed for Victims of Hurricane Eta
The countries of Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua were hit by the devastating Hurricane Eta leaving destruction and pain in its wake. The countries are reeling from over 40 inches of rain causing severe flooding and landslides, destroying homes and isolating towns.
Across Honduras, 1.8 million people are affected and more than 37,000 are residing in shelters, which are ill-equipped for implementing COVID-19 safety and prevention measures such as social distancing and handwashing. Travel has become severely limited due to damaged bridges and blocked roads, with some towns now isolated.
Our team in Honduras has provided immediate and critical support to children and families who have lost their homes to the hurricane. We have provided meals for several shelters in Tegucigalpa. We have also assisted the Honduran government with transportation and logistics as they send aid to the places they need it most.
God provided in advance through Joy FM, a Christian Radio station in St. Louis, Missouri, so we have been able to help immediately.
With your help, we can support the children and families in Honduras!
