Pan-Florida Challenge - Sam Shiflett - 100 Mile Ride
The Pan-Florida challenge helps raise money for cancer research and prevention including:
- Funding education for the community on the linkages between nutrition, malnutrition, and cancer. We support programs to teach meal preparation and healthy eating habits for the prevention of chronic illnesses like cancer.
- Supporting life-saving research for the Cancer Chemoprevention Research Interest Group at Moffitt Cancer Center.
-Feed hungry children nutritious, cancer fighting meals in elementary schools and after school programs throughout Florida to help children grow up healthy.
Over the last year cycling has changed my life as I've begun a journey to a healthier, better version of myself. I cycled nearly 1500 miles last year as COVID forced us home and I realized how fortunate I was to be young and relatively healthy. Not everyone is so fortunate as we have all seen the last year. Its my goal to ride 3000 miles and as part of that, I'd like to give back via challenges like this one. In that endeavor I will be riding the 100 mile route in the Pan-Florida Challenge in late March. Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated as we raise money for a great cause!
