Tell the USDA to End Taxpayer-Funded Animal Experiments at the U.S. Meat Animal Research CenterLamb in grass

A recent investigation by the New York Times has revealed details about horrific experiments being conducted on animals at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, a taxpayer-funded laboratory in Nebraska. Approximately 30,000 animals are confined at this facility with insufficient shelter and veterinary care while being subjected to invasive experiments, starvation, and mutilation. While cruel conditions are all too common for animals in agriculture, examples like this provide an opportunity for us to ask why the Animal Welfare Act fails to protect animals raised for food.

Demand that the U.S. Department of Agriculture stop using your tax-payer dollars to fund animal agriculture experiments. Please take action and ask the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to halt experiments at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center. We have provided text for you, but if you decide to write your own message, please be polite and encouraging.

To: Secretary Tom Vilsack
