Food for Life Instructor Ann Parkin

After personally experiencing the health-promoting effects of a plant-based diet in 2009, Ann was inspired to earn a certificate in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University.

In addition to teaching Food for Life classes, Ann has developed www.goodfoodproject.net to share recipes, information, and resources with those interested in exploring the many health benefits of a low-fat, plant-based diet.

Ann is also an advisor to the Healthy Microfinance Project, which works to empower micro-entrepreneurs to take control of their own health and improve the health of their families and communities through plant-based nutrition.

Her education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and the importance of preventive care. Drawing on this education and experience, she works with clients to help them make the dietary and lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

Why did you become a Food for Life instructor?
"It’s so rewarding to help people learn how easy, effective, and fun it can be to lose weight, prevent or reverse chronic disease, and enjoy greater well-being by adopting a delicious low fat, plant-based diet. This is truly life-changing information!"

Here is what class attendees are saying…

“This class has made a huge difference in my overall well-being. I've lost 18 pounds in seven weeks. I feel better, sleep better, and am in an overall better mood. Even my skin and hair have improved.”
-Tiffany M., Providence Cancer Center, Anchorage, Alaska

"After 5 weeks on the program, my husband and I have both lost 10 lbs. My blood sugar has dropped 30 points. My doctor says I may get off all medications at the next visit. I am a breast cancer survivor and my husband has heart disease, so this is a must for us!"
-Annie H., Roanoke Recreation Center, Roanoke, Texas
