Food for Life Instructor Sandi Rechenmacher
Sandi has been a whole foods enthusiast since the 70s when she (and her husband) owned a natural foods store. With degrees in education, nutrition, holistic health, herbs, and diabetes education, being a Food for Life instructor for PCRM comes naturally for her. What drives Sandi, is her enthusiasm and passion for sharing with others how to incorporate a healthy, plant-based diet into their lifestyle. Watch out, it's catchy! She knows that this is a step in helping her community make policy changes that support healthier food choices for all. Sandi currently writes 'Garden & Kitchen (nutrition) Notes' for the California Grey Bears of Santa Cruz and especially enjoys creating seasonal meals out of the organic garden in her backyard.
Why did you become a Food for Life instructor?
“Dr. Barnard's programs are the BEST means I've found for staying incredibly healthy and for sidestepping corporate control over my family and community's well-being. This is truly 'Food for People, Not for Profit.' I am honored to share this wisdom.”
Here is what class attendees are saying…
“Sandi had so much to teach, and cooked such wonderful meals for us all to eat at the end of the class. Dick and I have changed our way of eating as a result of her teachings, and are very happy that she came into my life. You might want to let her into your life as well.”
-Marion V., Santa Cruz, Calif.
"I thought of something else, besides the making my elixir of life (green) smoothies almost every day, from your class that has changed my life. That is, that I tried eating beans again. And as long as I am moderate on the amount in a meal, I was sure in ecstasy to find that I am well enough to eat 'em. If it hadn't been for your class I may never have tried them again!"
-Clio B., Santa Cruz, Calif.
