Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 7-9 p.m.: Preventing Alzheimer’s disease: Power Foods for the Brain

Guests will enjoy a screening of What the Health, a documentary which critiques the health impact of meat and dairy consumption. Neal Barnard, M.D., and nurse practitioner Kristine Slatkavitz, F.N.P.-B.C. of the Barnard Medical Center will join us to discuss how to incorporate power foods into your diet for optimal brain health.  

Tuesday, October 2, 2018: 7-9 p.m.: Prevention and Survival: Foods that Fight Cancer

In our final event of the series, we’ll screen Crazy Sexy Cancer, a documentary created by actress Kris Carr that tells the story of her battle with cancer and quest for a cure. Guests will hear remarks from the Barnard Medical Center’s Lee Crosby, R.D. about how her personal story relates to the links between diet and cancer prevention. 

Tickets: Each series event is $10 per person. Purchase a global pass for $40 and receive a free book by nutrition expert Neal Barnard, M.D.  Space is limited.

Parking: Garage parking is available across from the theatre on Bethesda Ave below the Darcy apartment complex. Parking is $1.00 per hour or fraction of an hour. There is also one large parking garage between Woodmont and Arlington on Bethesda Avenue. Levels 2 and 3 have 4-hour meters and Levels 4 and 5 have 15-hour meters at $.80/hour. The first two levels (G and 1) have 2-hour meters only. 

Enter using the main entrance facing Wisconsin Avenue and take the elevator to the 4th floor. Look for the registration table.
