Yesterday, for the first time, the EACH Woman Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate. The EACH Woman Act lifts bans on insurance coverage for abortion, including the Medicaid program. For too long, the Hyde Amendment has banned Medicaid coverage of abortion, pushing abortion out of reach for low-income women, especially women of color and young people. Please call your Senators and either thank them for cosponsoring the EACH Woman Act or urge them to support the EACH Woman Act and lifting insurance coverage bans for abortion.

For offices that have cosponsored:

I am a physician from ____. I am calling to thank Senator ____ for cosponsoring the EACH Woman Act. As a physician, I know that abortion is a part of health care and that every patient’s insurance should include coverage. I am thrilled to see champions in Congress recognize what our community of health care providers, patients, and advocates know to be true: the Hyde Amendment and other restrictions getting in the way of patients accessing abortion care must be reversed. Thank you for Senator ____'s leadership on this issue.

For offices that have not cosponsored:

I am a physician from ____. I am calling to urge Senator ____ to support the EACH Woman Act. As a physician, I know that abortion is a part of health care and that every patient’s insurance should include coverage. Cruel and unfair policies like the Hyde Amendment have stood in the way of patients accessing abortion care for too long. It is high time these policies be reversed. Please support the EACH Woman Act and oppose restrictions on abortion coverage.
