Thanks for visiting my page! I'm glad you're here! I assume you've noticed the importance of this organization and how impactful our work with Riley Hospital for Children is. If you havent, then you must be living under a rock... because this is what is happening and THIS is the important news in the world.
As the Vice-President of Membership Development this year, I oversee the Directors of Recruitment, the Director of Corporate Relations, and the Director of Member Engagment. I handle all stewarding affairs, enforce the importance of getting involved, and work closely with the president to understand the demographics of our organization and campus.
What do we fund?
Magic Castle Cart
The Magic Castle Cart is a rolling castle that provides smile therapy to the kids. Bob Baxter, the founder of the castle and former president of the hospital, rolls around with his cart and delivers toys and games to each room. Other volunteers help distribute the gifts to the kiddos, which adds up to over 20,000 gifts each year. This approach has been highly successful in making the kids happy and ensuring they have a memorable time spent at Riley.
The Palliative Care Team focuses on caring for kids who might need a little extra assistance in maintaining pain levels, symptoms, and comfortability. The overall goal is to help the kids and the family members have a better quality of life during this time in the patient's journey. While Riley Hospital is very family-centered, Palliative Care is most important when it comes to this factor. Family and doctor communication allows for more options that can correspond affectively with the family's morals and values.
Until there are no sicks kids, our work isn't done. How will YOU be part of the movement?
