This year, I will once again be participating in Riley Dance Marathon and standing on my feet for 36 hours in honor of the children at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, Indiana's only comprehensive CHILDREN'S research hospital. Riley Dance Marathon is a philanthropic movement led by high school and college students. Last year, more than 80 Riley Dance Marathons raised more than $65 million for the kids at Riley Hosptial!
This is my third year working with IUDM and I could not be more excited to take on my new role as fundraising chair! Last year, I was able to raise over $4,500 FTK, and I hope to be able to exceed that and meet my goal for this year of $6,000! I am so excited to be back with the CORPORATE RELATIONS CRew this year!! As a member of CR we work with corporate companies and small businesses to create long lasting relationships within the community and IUDM!
Why Do I Dance? I dance for many reasons. As someone who has not been in need of the care that Riley provides, I do not have a personal experience. However, what I do have are the stories that the children tell about what an amazing place Riley is. One little girl that I talked to, told me that she didn't go to a hospital she went to a castle and a fairy healed her. That's why I dance, so that no matter the circumstances they have the opportunity to tell their story: whatever that story may be. Another reason why I dance is because I have friends who would not be here if not for the amazing care that Riley has provided to them. I dance as a thank you to the doctors and nurses who have taken care of my friends in the past, and who will continue to take care of many people in the future.
I stand for those who can’t, in hope that they may be able to stand with us one day in the future.
For ALC, RW, Sam, Mel and all the others angels who are no longer with us.
Let's dance FTK all DM day!!!
