- 2018 Indiana University Dance Marathon
Thank you for visiting Stewardship’s fundraising page! We are so excited for what this year has in store for us and the kids at Riley. It is with your help we can make miracles happen every day!
This year, Stewardship has 66 members that are determined to make this year the best year yet! Last year Stewardship, or the SHIP as we like to call it, broke $107,000 and this year we have set our goal at $110,310.66. This number represents the 110% effort we are giving this year, our Riley Buddy Owen Weavers birthday (March 10th!), and the 66 members of Stewardship 2018!
Not only do we dance for Owen and all Riley has done for him and his family, but we dance for Ryan White and Ashley Louse Crouse. It is one of Stewardship's many responsibilities to continue their legacies of passion, love, hope, and acceptance!
What is stewardship?
Stewardship is the feel good committee that makes sure all donors, dancers, and members feel appreciated for all that they do.
Ryan and Ashley Week
One way we continue their legacies is by dedicating a week of the year to remember all that they stood for. This week is April 9th-April 13th.
Stewardship is made up of five subcommittees: CultureShip, EventShip, MemberShip, CommunityShip, University RelationShip. CultureShip is the glue that holds the ship together and helps everything stewardship does to sail smoothly. EventShip is in charge of Ryan and Ashley Week and informing the community about their legacy. They also organize Dancer Appreciation Day to show all the dancers how thankful everyone is for the work they put in. MemberShip is in charge of keeping the members of IUDM encouraged and appreciated. They do committee surprises, send encouraging text messages and emails, and manage the humans of IUDM account. CommunityShip organizes ways to give back to our corporate sponsors. They also make a name for IUDM by volunteering in the community and leading Parent Stewardship Day in the fall. University RelationShip is the connection between the faculty of IU and IUDM. They help the faculty get involved through holding a luncheon once a semester for the University Advisory Board, sending newsletters, and accompanying them around IU.
All the funds raised through IUDM go directly to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. Riley is one of the top research hospitals in the nation. 75% of the funds raised go toward research, and 25% goes towards clinical. This means that every single dollar raised is truly making a difference. Please consider helping us reach our goal by clicking the “Donate Now” button. We appreciate the support!
