Q: Is there a registration fee?A: No, however riders 15 and over must raise a minimum of $200.
***New in 2023: Fundraising by youth riders age 14 and under is not mandatory, but is encouraged as there is a prize for top youth fundraisers!
Q: Can I have a team of less than four ride participants?
A: No, all teams must consist of four or more riders.
Q: Do I need to wear a helmet?
A: YES! All riders MUST wear a helmet.
Q: Is there a fundraising incentive for riders?
A: Yes! Riders can receive a $50 gift card for the Keg for every $500 raised. Personal donations are not counted in the incentive calculations according to CRA regulations. If you would like to opt out of receiving the incentive and have the funds donated back to Riverview, please let us know by answering the question during the registration process.
Fundraising incentive prizes are calculated after all donations have been received.
Q: What percentage of the proceeds goes to RHC?
A: 100% of the proceeds raised by Cycle on Life participants goes to Riverview with one exception; a portion (50%) of the funds raised by the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Alumni team benefit Riverview Heath Centre and the other 50% is used by the WBB Alumni Association to support youth football safety programs and scholarships in Manitoba.
Money raised from Cycle on Life 2023 will support quality of life programs and equipment for patients and residents of all ages at Riverview Health Centre. Whether people call Riverview home in the Alzheimer’s, long-term care, or palliative areas, or they are being supported as inpatients or outpatients for stroke, acquired brain injury, nerve or muscle disorders in the EMG clinic, or use the Day Hospital or Adult Day programs, your support and participation of Cycle On Life supports the unique needs of everyone who comes to Riverview for care.
Q: Is there food provided during the event?
A: YES! Pre-ride and post-ride snacks and refreshments will be available. There will also be a bagged lunch for all riders after the ride.
Q: Can my children attend the ride?
A: YES! We have a 5 km Family Ride and will have activities for kids of all ages before and after the ride.
Q: Where can I park?
A: All street parking time limits surrounding Riverview will be lifted the day of the event. Please feel free to park anywhere on the surrounding streets. Parking in the laneways of Riverview Health Centre is not permitted as they are fire lanes.
