This is LDA’s second year participating in the Walk-A-Thon and we are honored to be walking alongside others in the South Bay community in order to end the cycle of child abuse and domestic violence. As designers we are committed to the well-being of people and the future and sustainability of our community. There is no greater place to start than with the children; ensuring they are safe, happy, and one day able to themselves give back to the community.

WHAT:
The Richstone Walk is South Bay’s original pier to pier walk, where locals unite to support and raise funds for the Richstone Family Center, one of the most progressive centers for the treatment and prevention of child abuse in Los Angeles. In its 32nd year, the Richstone Walk is Richstone’s largest annual community event to raise awareness and funds for child abuse treatment and prevention.

WHERE:
Kicking off from the Manhattan Beach Pier, we’ll walk the Strand to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back -- an easy 3.4 miles.

TIME:
7:00 AM Check In, Registration, Live Music, Giveaways, and Dog Costume Contest

WHY WE WALK FOR RICHSTONE:
Because…A report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds
Because…Everyday, almost five children die as a result of child abuse
Because…Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic and education level
Because… Richstone supports the most vulnerable children and families in the South Bay and South LA
Because…You can make a difference by raising funds to end the cycle of child abuse and domestic violence

The route is stroller and pet friendly, so start your day with friends and family enjoying beautiful ocean views and making a positive impact within our community.
