On November 8th, 2017, our world was shattered by the death of our son Glen Michael. At 26 years old, he decided he no longer wanted to be a part of this world and took his own life. Glen was a young man with high intelligence, a gifted athlete, a deep thinker and with a strong commitment to honesty in his life. He is a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin and a friend. Glen lived with integrity, with curiosity, and with full steam. He changed the minds and hearts of everyone that he met. Glen left behind a loving family and many, many friends, whose lives have been forever altered by this loss.
We want to turn our grief towards helping others. We are running/walking the 5k Samaritans race in honor of Glen Michael and his life, and to raise awareness of the suicide risks and of services offered.
The Samaritans work to help others who are struggling with suicidality, with education and prevention strategies, and with support for loved ones who have survived a suicide loss. All proceeds go directly to their services which are offered without charge to others. We would love you to support our team by joining us for the walk/run, or by donating to our “Glen’s team”.
