Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs in the world? The puppies are adorable, but to witness these amazing dogs at work is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.
When we learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies on donations and doesn't charge a penny for their dogs or services, we decided to participate in their biggest fundraiser of the year - Walkathon! We've set an ambitious fundraising goal and we're excited to contribute to the life changing mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs.
As a puppy raiser (Cash is our 10th puppy), we often get asked, 'how can you do it?' or hear 'I could never do that.' Hearing the story of a guide or service dog team from the handler perspective is powerful. Being part of the story because you raised the puppy makes your heart swell with pride. Puppy raisers can say goodbye because they know they are just a short stop in the journey the pup will take. We say goodbye knowing the puppy is ready to learn more at K9 University and they will find the career they were meant to have - whatever that may be.
Help us create more heroes!
- Kerri, Rick and Cash!
Cash is sponsored by Raymond James and her name was chosen by an associate vote. She is the third pup sponsored by Raymond James. Fin and RJ were the first two and they are both working guide dogs today.
