Hello my name is Hadley. I am 14 years old and an extreme dog lover! When I was born, I was born blind because I had no muscles in my eyelids to hold them open. It is a genetic condition and by a miracle after lots of prayer and three different surgeries I can see! For as long as I can remember I have loved dogs. They always give unconditional love and never ask questions like, “Why are your eyes different?” When I get older I want to be a part of training dogs to assist their handlers. Over the last 2 ½ years I have been training Scout, a loving, smart and loyal Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who loves to work. He is working towards earning the AKC title of Canine Good Citizen and training to be a Service Dog to give me freedom, confidence, and independence. I have decided this year to support this incredibly life changing organization by setting up this team to support their great work and accomplishments. One day soon I hope to be a Southeastern Guide Dogs puppy raiser giving confidence and independence to kids like myself, veterans and others with visual impairments.
