Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs in the world? The puppies are adorable, but to witness these amazing dogs at work is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.
When I learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies on donations and doesn't charge a penny for their dogs or services, I decided to participate in their biggest fundraiser of the year (again) - Walkathon! I've set an ambitious fundraising goal and I am excited to contribute to the life changing mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs.
Remember the pups I raised? Gladdy (a.k.a. Maddie) (now a PTSD dog), Sloopy (was a COVID sniffing dog, and is now a therapy dog and an ambassador at the school), Ralph (a guide dog), Hercules (medical release and now a pet), Sunshine (Breeder - with a recent litter), Mitch (also a breeder - with pups on the way), and now Maverick (who is currently 5 months old).
These dogs do amazing things for so many people, myself included. They have taught me patience, shown me loyalty and bring a smile to my face everyday. What's better than waking up to a "lab face", who is patiently waiting for you to let him/her out of the kennel. They are just so happy! And fortunate for me, I have been able to stay in contact with the people that have these dogs. It's heart warming to see the changes these dogs have made in peoples lives, and continue to make.
Please help me meet my fundraising goals by donating to the Walkathon by purchasing some raffle tickets. I really do appreciate those that have supported me in the past, and hope that I will have some new donors this year.
Thank you all so much for your consideration.
