In Canada, 1.2 million youth struggle with mental health issues.
I was shocked to learn that 4 out of 5 of these young people aren’t receiving the care they need. These statistics made me realize there’s probably someone in my circle — and in yours — who’s living in pain.
Knowing this, I was compelled to do something so I’m participating in RBC Race for the Kids, a charity fundraising race that supports youth mental health. As part of this initiative, I’m raising money for the Family Navigation Project (FNP) at Sunnybrook, an innovative program that connects young people struggling with mental illness and addiction to the help they desperately need.
There is significant demand for FNP’s service across Ontario: an estimated 260,000 families in Ontario can benefit from navigation support for mental health and/or addictions. This on-going support would not be possible without caring people like you. That is because the program is supported 100% through donations.
Your donation through my fundraising page helps ensure that young people and their families find the mental health care services they need. When you make a donation through RBC Race for the Kids, you’re supporting a life-changing program that allows youth in our community to get help for mental illness so they can reach their potential.
Thank you so much for your support of the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook and RBC Race for the Kids.
