Fundraising Tips and Resources

By fundraising for Trot for Hunger, you will make an even bigger impact on those in our DC community that are in need.Your support will help benefit thousands of families and individuals. Below are simple fundraising tips to help you meet your Trot fundraising goals:

1. Reach out to our SOME Trot for Hunger Team!

Everything from how to update your personal & team pages, writing emails, reaching out on social media, 'fun'draising ideas, and so much more! Email to setup a meeting so we can chat about how to meet your fundraising goals! Remember: All funds raised support SOME's mission and raise awareness to combast poverty in the Washington metropolitan area.

2. Use your Participant Center!

TeamRaiser Participant Center will help ensure success in your fundraising efforts. Participant Centers include a personal fundraising page to tell your story and inspire others to give generously, an email tool to use to encourage family and friends to join your team or make donations on your behalf, and a progress area to monitor results towards the fundraising goal. In the Participant Center you can:

  • Personalize your personal or team fundraising page with a photo and a story. Those that personalize their page raise significantly more money!
  • Inspire donations through your personal Trot for Hunger web page by sharing it on your social media accounts.
  • Send updates and thank you notes to friends and families that donate!

3. Get Creative!

Organizing an event is a fun way to raise funds! Bake sales, car washes, garage sales, happy hours. Ask your workplace about matching gifts. ... the ideas are endless!

4. Don't fundraise alone, Create a Team!

Encourage friends, family and coworkers to join your team! Invite family, friends, classmates, and co-workers to walk with you! Coach your team toward your fundraising goalWhether you have five teammates or fifty, you can make a difference in the fight against hunger and poverty!

5. Use Social Media

Sharing your Trot for Hunger fundraising story and your personal fundraising site on your social media encourages your friends and followers to donate. When sharing your fundraising on social media, always include a link to your personal fundraising page so friends can donate easily or join your team.
