Hi Friends!
Working at Special Olympics these past two and a half years has had a profound impact on me. Please join me in making an end of the year gift to support the amazing San Diego athletes that I have worked with so closely. Here are a few highlights of what I have learned in my time at Special Olympics:
- Our athletes have incredible strength of spirit, creativity, athleticism and joy.- Our athletes will always show up and try their hardest.
- Our athletes are brilliant! I have been blown away by how many of our athletes are bi-lingual (including ASL!), or have learned to communicate on a deep level using no language at all.
- Special Olympics is the great unifier. Athletes don’t let age, gender, race or disability stand in their way of being friends. It is a beautiful thing.
- Special Olympics is supporting inclusive sports and leadership programs in public schools across the country and is directly linked to a massive reduction in bullying at these schools. This will change lives for generations to come!
- Special Olympics needs an army of volunteers! Check your local Special Olympics website to find out how you can volunteer at a competition or even become a coach!
Special Olympics runs entirely on fundraising and all participation, equipment and travel expenses are covered for our athletes so that cost is never a barrier. Working on behalf of our athletes has been a true privilege and fills me with immense pride. Thank you for helping me make a positive impact in San Diego!
