A Day of Giving for SPCA Monterey County 2024 Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser

SPCA Behavior and Training

Please help our team end pet homelessness, care for injured wildlife, and make Monterey County a better place to live for people and animals!

We will be raising funds in the weeks leading up SPCA's A Day of Giving telethon to support our vital work for the pets, people and wildlife who depend on us. We hope you will sponsor us (and our dogs!) as we raise essential money for SPCA Monterey County and all their important services.

The Behavior and Training team at the SPCA brings critical behavioral help to both shelter dogs and people's pets.

Our TLC program helps animals who need training to thrive in a new home as well as those who arrive fearful or unsure of humans and need to learn to trust people again.

Ruff Start provides a second chance for shelter dogs that may need extra training, socialization, or care before being placed for adoptions  Inmates at Salinas Valley State Prison are paired with shelter dogs for 8 weeks.  During their stay, the dogs receive behavior training and loving compassionate care.

Our Behavior team also offers free behavior counseling, private behavior training, and group classes.  Our trainers have years of experience and a variety of certifications and attend classes and conferences to give us the knowledge to help your pets.

Thank you so much for helping the Behavior and Training Team - we look forward to hearing from you soon!
