About Virtual & Safe In Person Events for Variety

Be a champion for children with special needs!

Each year, hundreds of individuals, groups & organizations raise money for Variety - the Children’s Charity in their own creative way by hosting Community Events. Teaming up with us is easy. From selling cookies to diving into cold pools of water, the only limit to your community fundraiser is your imagination! Are you ready to organize your own fundraising event for Variety - the Children’s Charity? All it takes is a little creativity, some careful planning and the desire to make a difference in the lives of BC’s kids with special needs. During this time of uncertainty, Variety BC would like to encourage all supporters to create virtual fundraising initiatives. At a time when everyone needs to be there for each other, it’s important to remain physically apart. Here are a few ideas on how you can fundraise with your friends, family and community from a distance:

Some of our wonderful supporters even ask for donations in lieu of birthday, wedding, anniversary presents.

This online system allows you to create your own event, send out emails to friends, peers and family members and you can monitor your progress to help you reach your goal.

Since 2010, Variety has distributed more than $30 million in funding to families and organizations in communities province-wide. Variety provides grants in 5 key funding areas: mobility equipment, specialized therapies, mental wellness and educational programs & bursaries along with lifesaving medical equipment and supplies. Variety’s mission is that every child in BC with special needs achieves their full potential and thrives.

Thank you for organizing an event and raising money for BC’s kids with special needs. If you have any questions or if we can support you in any way, please email Angela Smith or call her at 604-268-3890 for more information.
