CALL the Governor and
the General Assembly to work together to come to a responsible budget agreement that includes adequate revenue to support community mental health treatment services before the start of the new fiscal year on July 1st!
What is the Issue? Last week,
Governor Rauner vetoed the General Assembly’s health and human services budget.
The new fiscal year begins on July 1st, and without a budget and
adequate revenue, many important services are at risk of shutdown.
What is at Stake? Without a
budget and sufficient revenue to support it, all state-funded services,
including mental health treatment services, are at risk. It is urgent that the
Governor and the General Assembly cooperate now
to find a responsible budget agreement to fund critical health and human
services before July 1st.
Withholding
vital treatment services will result in increased human and financial costs in
the form of hospital stays, ER visits, increased jail use, and more.
What You Can Do? Call your State Representative, Senator, and Governor Rauner
Today! Call the
Governor and the General Assembly today and
urge them to work together to come to a responsible budget agreement that
includes adequate revenue to support community mental health treatment services
and other healthcare and human services for our state’s most vulnerable
residents.
