NAPSA Announces New Initiatives to Fight Financial Exploitation The National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) has announced two new initiatives to fight against financial exploitation. The first initaitve is an improved version of NAPSA's National Guidelines for Financial Institutions: Working Together to Protect Older Persons from Financial Abuse. The new version features updated and streamlined forms and protocols. The second initiative is a National Clearinghouse on Financial Exploitation. The Clearinghouse will provide answers to questions, links to resources, introduction to partners and problem-solving to help fight financial exploitation. Access NAPSA's new resources »

NORS Technical Assistance Open Dialogue Webinars
Join the National Long-Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center (NORC) for a series of NORS technical assistance open dialogue webinars now that the revised NORS data collection has been effective for a few weeks (as of October 1, 2019).
Do you have any questions as you enter your work under the revised NORS data collection? If so, join this webinar series to have an informal question and answer session. During each webinar presenters will provide a brief overview of key points for the relevant NORS topics and then attendees are free to ask questions regarding that topic.

Join the Georgetown University National Center on Cultural Competence and the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices Systems (NCAPPS) for a webinar Tuesday, October 29th at 3:00pm ET entitled "Cultural Competence: What It Means for Person-Centered Thinking, Planning & Practice." This webinar will: (1) Describe a framework for cultural competence at the individual and organizations levels; (2) Provide a “real life” example of an organization that values and practices cultural competence; (3) Highlight personal narratives of individuals who will share what culturally competent services mean to them; and (4) Describe how cultural competence and person-centered thinking and practice are integrally linked.
