Recognize, Reflect and Celebrate Juneteenth 2022
Juneteenth is the triumphant day when enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom. 2022 marks the first year of Juneteenth being recognized as a national holiday, an extremely significant point in American history.
It marks a starting point for African Americans’ long journey toward freedom — one that continues to this day. A catalyst in that journey toward freedom has been the role of education, the role of UNCF in working to help thousands of individuals pursue and attain a college degree.
To celebrate this momentous first Juneteenth national holiday, UNCF salutes and thanks you for your support in helping us continue to uplift financially challenged students. We recognize the struggle for freedom, equality and the ability to pursue one’s true potential is not a given — it must continuously be fought for.
On behalf of the thousands of UNCF students, we thank you, we appreciate you!
