Every quilt tells a story, and this year's Stronger Together quilt tells a history. To celebrate Black History Month, we're sharing two special patterns to fundraise for UNCF!
Fat Quarter Shop is sharing the 2022 Stronger Together Quilt Pattern and Stronger Together Cross Stitch Pattern in support of UNCF (United Negro College Fund). We encourage you to donate $15 (below) to our UNCF campaign for the use of each of these free patterns!
The design was inspired by inventor and businessman, Garrett Morgan. The quilt represents elements from Morgan's life and work, including the patented zigzag stitch mechanism for manual sewing machines that he invented. During his lifetime he created a number of inventions and prototypes that we benefit from today.
Shereece Spain of Sew Hooked on Treasures designed this year's quilt featuring basics by Art Gallery Fabrics in two amazing colorways. The cross stitch design is made to match the quilt, and we have a 2022 Stronger Together DMC Thread Pack that includes the colors of both of these quilts to give the option to make either one, or a unique design of your own.
Shereece will be sharing her inspiration for the quilt and block tutorials each week on her Instagram account @sewhookedontreasures, so join her to follow along and join in the fun!
We will post the fabric requirements for the quilt, supply list for the cross stitch, and all the FREE patterns for download on our blog: Stronger Together information and patterns.
Stronger Together Quilt Kits and cross stitch thread packs are available for sale at the Fat Quarter Shop. If you wish to sew along with other fabrics or floss from your stash, please refer to the pattern as a guide to prepare for the quilt and stitch along.
Fat Quarter Shop will match up to $7,000 in donations raised from now through February 28, 2022!
