ABOUT UNITED WAY

Step up for a stronger community

As our region undergoes incredible change and growth, United Way Greater Toronto is working to strengthen our local communities and ensure everyone has what they need to thrive. The GTA is facing escalating challenges right now, an affordable housing crisis, rising food insecurity and a surge in mental health challenges and we’re working hard to connect residents to the services they need. We fight local poverty by supporting the people in the neighbourhoods they call home.

In partnership with a network of 300 agencies across Peel, Toronto and York Region, we invest in more than 650 community programs, like delivering food boxes and warm meals to people in our neighbourhoods; supporting those who need it with shelter and access to affordable housing; and connecting people to emergency helplines and counselling. We fund organizations with deep roots in community, partner across sectors on bold and innovative local initiatives, conduct groundbreaking research to support effective solutions, and lead on advocacy around the issues residents care about.

United Way works tirelessly to connect neighbours, engage residents and uplift communities across the GTA today and for generations to come.
