Researchers within the Faculty of Health Sciences have been at the forefront of innovative research initiatives related to Understanding and Treating Communication Disorders in Children.

Western alumni and friends are invited to join Jayne Garland, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences for a dynamic speaker reception. Moderated by Kevin Shoemaker, Associate Dean (Research), this discussion will feature the following faculty speakers:

Janis Cardy, Ph.D. Communication Sciences and Disorders
Title: How the brain “hears” and what it means for language development in autism

Sheila Moodie, BSc'89, MClSc '92, PhD'12, Communication Sciences and Disorders (Presenter) and David Sindrey, BSc'89, MClSc '92
Title: From Hear On: A video-based intervention for parents of children with hearing loss

6:00 p.m. Registration 
6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.  Formal program begins, followed by Q & A
7:15 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Light refreshments and mingling
