Dog Manners Class - Dog Training for Adult Dogs
|
“Why won’t my dog come when called?” “Why does my dog jump all over everybody?” “Stop barking!” Does this sound like your house? Our experienced staff of instructors makes training your dog a fun and rewarding experience for people AND dogs! This is a “must do” class, designed to teach you how to communicate with your dog. Our classes use reward based training techniques - teaching you how to use a clicker and rewards for training success! Dogs are taught in a relaxed, well-organized environment where learning is fun! During this 6-week session, your dog will be introduced to cues such as: Sit, Down, Stay, Off, Leave it, Wait at the door, Come, Walking on a loose leash and more! This date is the start date of a six-week class. Adult Manners Classes meet for 50 minutes every week on the same day and time for 6 consecutive weeks. An enrollment fee is required for each dog at the time of registration (not each person). This class is for dogs 5 months and older. Families are welcome but the actual handlers must be at least 18 years old. Children under 8 are not allowed to attend. We limit classes to 10 dogs and provide an Instructor and Assistant for all classes resulting in a ratio of 1 person to 5 dogs. VACCINATIONS: All dogs need to be current on their Rabies (if over 4 months of age), Distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines before the first class. Be sure to bring your vaccination records with you to the first class! Please check your records because even if you adopted from us, you may not have all the vaccinations needed for class. Dogs will not be able to participate in class without proper vaccination records. * PLEASE NOTE ** DOGS DO NOT ATTEND THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS!! If you are a volunteer at the Wisconsin Humane Society, please do not sign up on-line, but call Nora Hart at 414-431-6156. Social dogs only, please!! Dogs that have shown any prior aggression to other dogs or people are NOT allowed in the group class setting under any circumstances (including if you already paid for the class). Aggression cannot be addressed in this venue; you will not get the attention you deserve and it puts others at risk. Please call us for private training to get the best behavior treatment for your companion. **** PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE **** If you decide not to attend the class date in which you are registered your payment will be used for the animals in our non-profit facility. If you are uncertain whether our classes will meet your expectations, you are welcome to sit in on a class (without your dog) before you pay. Just give us a call! If you miss the first class you will not be able to continue. The foundation for the six-week session is laid in class 1 and therefore must be attended in order to continue class. Date:
