Dog Care Merit Badge Clinic
|
Calling all Scouts! The Boy Scouts of America and the Wisconsin Humane Society have teamed up to offer this fun and informative clinic to work on the requirements needed to earn the Dog Care Merit Badge and have a howlin’ good time! Many Scouts are able to get their blue cards completed by the end of the clinic. The non-refundable fee for this four-hour clinic is $25 per Scout. Due to space restrictions related to physical distancing, we ask that adults do not attend with their Scout unless absolutely necessary. If your scout needs additional assistance, please let us know as soon as possible. Food: Please send a packed snack or dinner. We will provide designated spaces for each child to store their food. Important information: There are ten requirements for this badge, eight of which can be signed off in the workshop that day. Due to the requirements of #4 and #5 , you must complete these on your own. If you do #4 and #5 prior to the workshop and bring your documentation (including any photos, videos, logs) with you on the day of the workshop, we can sign off on everything that day and you are done! You can complete these requirements after the clinic as well and coordinate with the Merit Badge Counselor to get your blue card signed. Although you are not required to have a dog to attend this workshop, you must have the ability to care for one to complete requirement #4 and #5. Scouts whose families are considering adopting a dog may want to attend to learn more about the responsibilities and care required. Scouts can then complete the last two requirements in the future when they have officially added a canine family member to their pack. --- Are you interested in helping homeless animals in another way? Consider organizing a donation drive prior to attending this workshop and collect much needed wish list items!
--- The health and safety of the young people who attend our programs is our top priority. For more information about our current precautions, visit click here. Cancellation & refunds:Registration fees are non-refundable. If your child doesn’t meet our health guidelines and needs to miss the program, we will try to provide an opportunity for them to attend the program on an alternate date. Please notify the youth programs team immediately. For all other situations, if your child is unable to attend, you may offer your registration to another child who meets the age requirements. The Wisconsin Humane Society reserves the right to cancel programs. In the unlikely event that we cancel a program, we will attempt to reschedule the session. If we are unable to do so, or we are unable to accommodate your child in another program, you will receive a full refund of the registration fee. Questions:
