In Person Puppy Classes
|
Our experienced instructors make training your dog a fun and rewarding experience for people AND dogs! In this class, we will work on building the foundation for handler focus, coming when called and loose leash walking. We will also work on providing positive socialization experiences with novel objects, spaces, people and other puppies. Each week we will allow time to discuss and offer support on common training challenges such as potty training, chewing, mouthing, and exuberant or fearful behaviors VACCINATIONS: All puppies need to be current on Distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines before the first class. Be sure to bring your dog's vaccination records with you to the first class! Please check your records because even if you adopted from us, you may not have all the vaccinations needed for class. Dogs will not be able to participate in class without proper vaccination records - no exceptions. Social dogs only, please! Dogs that have shown any prior aggression to other dogs or people are NOT allowed in the group class setting under any circumstances (including if you already paid for the class). Aggression cannot be addressed in this venue; you will not get the attention you deserve and it puts others at risk. Please email us for private training to get the best behavior treatment for your companion: sstein@wihumane.org COVID protocols: We are limiting classes to 6 dogs per class Only 1 person per dog may attend class (we will send you home with handouts for each exercise and email video links for additional support) Masks must be worn in the building at all times Chairs, doorknobs, counters, and common surfaces will be disinfected in between classes * PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE * If you decide not to attend the class date in which you are registered your payment will be used for the animals in our non-profit facility. If you are uncertain whether our classes will meet your expectations, you are welcome to sit in on a class (without your dog) before you pay. Just give us a call! If you miss the first class you will not be able to continue. The foundation for the six-week session is laid in class 1 and therefore must be attended in order to continue class. Date:
