PLEASE NOTE: This is the start date of a 5-day camp. This session of Junior Veterinary Camp meets Monday, August 9 - Friday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the WHS Racine Campus.

Junior Veterinary Camp

(Grades 6-9)

Junior Veterinary Camp is a 5-day summer camp at the Racine Campus for young people who have completed Grade 6 to Grade 9. Dive into the exciting world of veterinary science and discover what it takes to become an animal doctor during this camp experience.

Camp times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. 

Camp price $225. 

Camp T-shirts are available for purchase for $15 at the time of registration. T-shirts are highly encouraged, but not mandatory for children to attend camps. If you decide to purchase a T-shirt, please indicate the size when registering. All T-shirt sales are final. Deadline to purchase T-shirts for camp is May 15.

Safety precautions

The health and safety of participants in our programs – your children – and our staff continues to be our top priority. To that end, there will be some changes to ensure safety for campers this summer, including:

• Limiting enrollment for each camp to maintain physical distancing
• Limiting the number of people in the shelter building for other services
• Asking families and staff to abide by a health policy and stay home when sick, exposed to anyone with COVID-19, and/or 14 days after returning from an international trip
• Increasing cleaning and handwashing at camp
• Moving as many of our camp activities outside as possible
• Requiring all campers and staff to wear masks when inside

Cancellations & Refunds

Camp registrations are subject to our 2021 summer camp cancelation policy:

• We will provide a full refund for cancelations made at least 30 days prior to the start of the camp session.

• We will not provide refunds for cancelations made within 30 days of the start of the camp session. You may offer your registration to another child who meets the camp’s age requirements. Please notify the youth programs team if you’d like to use this option.

• Safety is our number one priority so if your child does not meet our health guidelines and needs to miss a camp day, we will provide a prorated refund for days missed in those situations. To receive this refund, you must contact us the day before or morning of camp before 8:45 a.m. to let us know your child will be absent that day due to illness. We will not provide refunds if your child does not attend in situations not related to our health policy.

• If your child misses a full week of camp because they don’t meet our health guidelines, we will offer a space in another summer camp session if one is available. If we can’t place your child in another camp session, we will provide a full refund of your registration fee.

• The Wisconsin Humane Society reserves the right to cancel camp. In the unlikely event that we cancel a camp, we will attempt to reschedule the session. If we are unable to do so, or we are unable to accommodate your child in another camp, you will receive a full refund of the registration fee.
