Thank you for your interest in our Virtual Dog Manners Class at the Wisconsin Humane Society - Milwaukee Campus located at 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue!
This class is appropriate for dogs of any age.
This self-directed class is an excellent option for families who would like to build their dog’s manners skillset but have dogs who would not be comfortable in a group class setting. This is also an excellent option for families who might not be within a reasonable driving distance of the Milwaukee Campus, have scheduling conflicts with our other class offerings, or might otherwise find that an in-person group class is not the best fit for them. This class is completely virtual, self-led, and will be accessed from the comfort of your home.
In this class, we will introduce basic learning theory to owners so that they can effectively troubleshoot behavior concerns beyond the end of the class. We will focus on helping dogs learn the skill set to relax in new spaces, offer their owners attention, and the foundation for sit, down, stay, walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and relaxation around food.
Participants must have access to the internet and YouTube via a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Each week, videos and handouts outlining the material will be released to each participant. This class is self-directed, with no further instruction from the instructor beyond the materials released each week. Minimal questions may be answered via email regarding the weekly content. If students find themselves needing additional support beyond the weekly class material, they may consider scheduling an in-person or virtual consultation with our behavior professional.
