Pet Walk Racine-Kenosha 2024

Team Meow

We're so excited to be participating in Wisconsin Humane Society's Pet Walk! This year, our team is joining thousands of animal lovers and their furry friends to support an incredible cause - and we need your help.

Please consider supporting our team - and the animals - by making a donation today.

Your gift — no matter the size — will help ensure that the Wisconsin Humane Society can continue to be there for animals in need.

The animals who come through their doors are full of love in so many ways - they're cuddly, they're looking to play, they're goofy - but they are also some of the most resilient animals you will ever meet.

Why are we doing this?

It’s more than just for the animals. 17 years ago I (Matthew) adopted my first cat from Safe Harbor Humane Society in Kenosha. Within a year there were 5 cats in my household. Over time this number has fluctuated, but the constant has always been the presence of animals.

8 years ago, a stray cat started hanging around our back yard. Being the animal lover that I am we placed food out for her. To our surprise she was pregnant, and so began an experience we will never forget. Through working with Kenosha’s Kindred Kitties we were able to provide a safe controlled environment for Momma to have her kittens and get everyone into a forever home. One of these kittens made its way into our home and heart.

Throughout the year and over the years my household gives to non-profit animal shelters and rescues. One of the many ways we do this is through recycling our cat food and soda cans. Additional cans for recycling come from my employer, and neighbors.

We continue to work with neighbors and the Racine WI Humane Society to help control the feral cat population by doing TNR (Trap Neuter Release). If they deem the animal adoptable it enters their adoption program, if not we have it spayed/neutered and return it to our neighborhood.

The love for animals is strong in our house, and most likely drives my Wife (Whitney) crazy what I am willing to do to help animals.

As hard as it can be to ask you - my friends and family, seeing the amazing success stories of these animals makes its easy. Life has thrown a lot of curveballs at them, yet they still can't wait to bond with their new family. While at the shelter, they heal, play, and even learn a few new tricks, and WHS is there to encourage them every step of the way.

Will you join us in helping the animals who need us most?
