In memory of my mother, Dianne Grovogel (Moore), I'm joining an amazing group of people for Pet Walk Door County, raising funds and awareness for the Wisconsin Humane Society. In case you haven't heard it from me enough times, WHS is an amazing place - providing safe shelter for animals in need and programming for those who need it, so together we can continue to build a community that values animals and treats them with respect and kindness.

The animals who come through their doors are full of love in so many ways - they're cuddly, they're looking to play, they're goofy - but they are also some of the most resilient animals you will ever meet.

I’m participating for as another way to honor and remember my Mom. One of her beloved dogs, Grover, was found at the DCHS. He went home with her to have so much love, being so much joy, and eat so many treats. My mother loved animals, her dogs especially, and if she could have, she’d have donated all she could to help… I have been searching for ways to remember her and honor her in a way that is true to her; this seems like a perfect fit!

As hard as it can be to ask you - my friends and family, seeing the amazing success stories of these animals makes its easy. Like my own Mom, life has thrown a lot of curveballs at them, but their resilience, strength, and love shines through more than anything!
