Animals have always played a major role in my life, and anyone that knows me, knows that my animals are treated like my children. Last fall, we fell in love with the world's sweetest puppy at WHS and immediately knew she was meant to be part of our family.

Despite how happy and adorable she appeared, though, Luna was a bit of a hot mess when she came into the shelter. Not only was she pretty underweight, she also had intestinal parasites, infections in both ears, vaginitis, and a slew of other health issues. She was so desperate for affection, and truly just wanted to be loved.

This is just one small, but personal, example of why the work that WHS does for animals and our community is so important. And it’s why I’m raising funds for this year’s Pet Walk. Because for every fur baby who gets a second chance at love, there are countless others who remain unloved, abandoned and neglected.
