In Person Dog Manners Class
Milwaukee Campus

Thank you for your interest in our Dog Manners Class at the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Campus located at 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue!

This date is the start date of a six-week class. Dog Manners Classes meet for 50 minutes every week on the same day and time for 6 weeks. There will be NO CLASS on Thursday, August 22nd. 

This class is for dogs over 4 months of age.


Our experienced instructors make training your dog a fun and rewarding experience for people AND dogs!  In this class, we will work on building the foundation for comfort in new spaces, handler focus, stays, loose leash walking and coming when called. This introductory class will be the foundation for more advanced skills that will continue to be built in Advanced Manners. We will utilize treats, toys, and petting as rewards in this class. 


To prepare you and your dog for class, please complete the following steps before the first class:

Vaccinations: All dogs need to be current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines before the first class. Be sure to bring your dog's vaccination records with you to the first class! Please check your records because even if you adopted from us, you may not have all the vaccinations needed for class. Dogs will not be able to participate in class without proper vaccination records - no exceptions.

Social dogs only, please! Dogs that have shown any prior aggression to other dogs or people are NOT allowed in the group class setting under any circumstances (including if you already paid for the class). Aggression and excessive barking and/or reactivity cannot be addressed in this venue; you will not get the attention you deserve and it puts others at risk. Please email us for private training to get the best behavior treatment for your companion: sstein@wihumane.org.

Two adults per dog may attend class (we will send you home with handouts for each exercise and email video links as needed for additional support).

  • If you are unable to make class for any reason, we have written handouts and videos outlining the exercises we did in class. 
  • There are no make up classes or refunds for missed classes.
  • If you decide not to attend the class date in which you are registered your payment will be used for the animals in our non-profit facility.
