Join the International Council: A global community of visionary leaders

The International Council is a prestigious circle of philanthropists and heritage enthusiasts from around the world who are instrumental in helping WMF achieve its goals. Sustained by a love of history, art, and architecture, Council members interact directly with WMF’s leadership, and each other, to chart the organization’s global strategy and maximize its impact. In addition to enjoying a suite of exclusive benefits, members help identify conservation projects of international significance, and share with their networks the critical importance of preserving humanity’s irreplaceable cultural heritage for future generations. When you join the International Council, you become part of a global community extending from WMF headquarters in New York City to our affiliates in the UK, India, Peru, Portugal, and Spain, as well as representatives in France, China, Japan, and Cambodia.

International Council Members serve as global ambassadors for WMF and its mission and have the opportunity to travel with WMF’s leadership and conservation experts through our exclusive travel program, Monumental Journeys. Council members also have access to private, behind-the-scenes tours of WMF sites around the world while traveling independently. These visits may be scheduled to fit with your personal travel plans and the full list of tours can be found here.
