On Sept. 7, 2011, an intimate, fun and unforgettable celebration of Buddy Holly's music brought together an all-star cast on what would have been Buddy Holly's 75th birthday. This day was also, in many ways, a celebration of guitar-based rock and the modern singer-songwriter tradition which Buddy Holly began. The Music Box Theatre in Los Angeles was the backdrop for this "by invitation only" event which included celebrities and other special guests like Maria Elena Holly and Phil Everly. Peter Asher, producer of the Listen to Me: Buddy Holly album (and musical legend in his own right as performer and producer) was the evening's music supervisor, co-hosting the event with Chris Isaac. Also featured during the live concert were recorded tributes by Keith Richards, Ringo Starr and Brian Wilson.
