On January 19, 1961, a star-studded Inaugural Gala, produced by Frank Sinatra, celebrated the President-elect, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, in spite of a major snowstorm. It was to be broadcast on television the next week but technical problems were insurmountable at the time and it went into storage for 56 years. With today's digital technology, this time capsule of memorable performances is available to public television audiences.

Stars include Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Kelly, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Durante and Ethel Merman.
