"The Buddy Rich Show" was a passion project for a man with a lot of passion. Over the course of three incredible days in February of 1982, legendary drummer Buddy Rich filmed three pilot episodes for "The Buddy Rich Show." Shot at the former Café Rouge, in New York's famous Statler Hotel, "The Buddy Rich Show" featured once-in-a-lifetime performances of The Buddy Rich Band alongside Buddy's friends and fellow jazz greats including: Ray Charles, Mel Torme, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, Lionel Hampton and Woody Herman. Hosted by Buddy, this live performance television show showcased incredible performances from Buddy with his band interspersed with ultra-rare footage of Buddy chatting with his very special guests. The show also captures Buddy's raw charisma and wit along with his magnificent playing on such iconic tracks as, "Westside Story," "Birdland," "Love for Sale" and more. This magnificently preserved footage of The Buddy Rich Band performing live with these legendary artists has NEVER been seen.
