The Walk to Defeat ALS™ will be here before you know it, and you are cordially invited to join the walk team of "Ron's Rowdies" in support of this very important and exciting event. The ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter’s Walk to Defeat ALS™ will be on Saturday, November 4, 2023, and we need your help. The Walk will be held at Pennington Biomedical Research Center located at 6400 Perkins Road.
As you know, the WALK has significant and profound meaning for the Vannoy and Schittone families. We would like to thank all of you that sponsored and supported us in last year's Walk. Because of your generous contributions and participation in the 2022 Walk, our team of walkers raised over $6,205 to support the progress being made in the fight against ALS. Can we make it $1 more than last year?
"Ron's Rowdies" walk team, which was organized in 2006, will participate in the walk again this year in memory of Ron Vannoy, who lost a courageous battle with ALS in August 2007. Ron was a devoted son, husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. In spite of his struggles with the debilitating effects of ALS, Ron forever inspired us with his bravery, his determination and concern for others more than for himself. His inspiration has encouraged us and has reinforced our efforts to continue the fight against ALS in his memory and on behalf of those PALS stricken with this unforgiving disease. I hope you will join us as we WALK to help others affected by ALS.
The Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on Saturday, November 4th at Pennington Biomedical Research Center located on Perkins Road. Join us on Walk Day, if you are able. If you are unable to attend, but you would still like to support Ron's Rowdies as a Virtual Walker, you can make a donation by clicking my personal page link below.
If you are unable or uncomfortable with making an online donation, you may choose to mail your tax-deductible donation in the form of a check made payable to The ALS Association LA-MS Chapter and mail it to:
