Thank you for viewing Ed's Eagles Team page!
We are walking in memory of my brother, Ed Appleby, who passed away on December 16, 2010.
We hope to raise as much as possible every year, until a cure is found. Before Ed was diagnosed, I had never heard of ALS nor did I know what it stood for. Since Ed's passing I have joined the annual ALS walk and have tried to help raise awareness about this terrible disease.
Ed was a man of great spiritual belief, he was self disciplined, generous, athletic, full of good humor, always there with a helping hand and last but certainly not least, a United States Marine and officer in the US Navy. He was diagnosed with ALS on July 9th, 2009 and passed away a year and a half later, six days after his 58th birthday.
Upon Ed's diagnosis, he responded with the following: "If this is God's plan, I'll take it and do the best I can with it". -July 2009- He did indeed, do his best with all things in life and he placed great faith in God. Ed's example of strength, courage and character are unmatched by anyone I've ever known. I am eternally grateful for the memories I have of him and the privilege of having him as my big brother.
It is my heartfelt honor to keep alive the memory of such a wonderful man, who did so much, for so many.
Rest in peace sweet Ed, we'll take it from here.
