Thank you for helping us reach our fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. My name is Emma I am 7 years old and I am a 1st grade student at St James Catholic School here in Erie, PA. My grandmother Daisy Franco passed after a long battle of ALS February 12,2024. ALS attacks motor neurons and makes it difficult to move your extremities legs, arms and eventually strips even your ability to speak and breathe properly. My grandma Daisy always took me for walks in the park and out for ice cream in the summer, and even though ALS took her ability to do that ALS cannot take away the ability to feel emotions and she loved me and all of her grandchildren very much, please help me honor her memory by walking alongside me on June 22nd and helping me reach this goal to find cure and treatment for ALS.
Thank You and God Bless,
Emma Colón-Burgos

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
