Join The Rose Express!
Thank you for supporting the fight against ALS! We are walking in memory of Rosemary Felts: wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend. Rosie lost her battle against ALS in March of 2009. We named our team "The Rose Express" after the trucking company her husband (our dad & PaPa) named for her.
The ALS Association of St. Louis helped Rosie and our family during her illness by providing care, equipment, education and support. Our fundraising benefits people with ALS, their families and those working to treat and cure ALS.
This is our family's 13th annual ALS Walk. We have raised more than $22,000 since 2011!
Please join our team and walk with us in spirit on Saturday, June 24. You can also support the fight by making a donation - just choose a team member and make a donation to their fundraising goal. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS!
Why We Need Your Help
Commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. As of yet, there is no known cause of the disease. It costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care an ALS patient needs.
